British pound. Shaken, not stirred

The British pound plunged more than 6 per cent to $1.1841 in two minutes (06.10.2016) hitting a new 31-year low against the US dollar in mysterious circumstances. As the currency recovered to $1.23, still 1.5 per cent down from late US levels, there was speculation a technical glitch or human error had sparked a rash of computer-driven orders.
